Punjabi is the official language of the Punjab in India, however Hindi is the official language of India. English and Hindi are often used to communicate with people who are not from the Punjab and can't speak Punjabi.

India is a melting pot of many different cultures and with that comes a vast arrangement of languages. In the Punjab region in India Punjabi is the official language but Hindi, Pashtu, Urdu, Siraiki, Hindko, Arabic, and English are also spoken there.
