Completely agree with Babs. I'll love her forever. I think this war has no more reasons. In Iraq the real democracy won't come from the U.S. invasion. The war against terrorism around the world is not only an american issue. By the way, i think the terrorism is because U.S. is a real pain in the *** for every country in this world

It's illegal, and based on lies.

And the young people who signed up were told a lot of untruths by the recruiters, in a lot of cases. (I recently read "Mission Rejected: Solders Who Said No To Iraq" - very revealing.)

The costs are high, and will be higher when the soldiers all come home and need treatment for PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and addictions because they'll self-medicate to deal with the pain and anger and frustration and grief over all they've done and seen. We're seeing it already with some of the guys who've done 1 or even 2-3 tours of duty.

I think a hell of a lot of people answering this question need to get a God D*mn back bone and stop there f*cking whining! So many d*mn morons on this page its ridiculous. Iraq was the right thing to do, whether you all like it or not the U.S.A. is the police of the world. Somebody's gotta do it ( and the Frenchies sure as hell won't), so we step up to the plate. Personally, I would've liked to see a carpet bombing campaign of the Middle East, but thats just me. Well, at least when I get in I'll have N. Korea to look forward to. Semper Fi to those of you with some balls, f8ck the rest of you.

Some people thinks that U.S.A attack Iraq because they want to uphold the justice and so to prevent they use nuclear weapon on them. Some people thinks that because of personal reasons, the U.S.A attack Iraq. Also, there is also conclusion made that U.S.A attack Iraq cause they want the oil in Iraq. Personally, I think that the war in Iraq is totally waste of time and cruel. What for they attack a country who have done nothing to them. They said Iraq have weapons of mass destruction, but they found nothing when they search the country.

Every war is bad...
No war can be worse...

The Iraquees should stand up on their own feet by now...
It's sad to see you Americans losing your boys in that war...

People will surely criticise...just like the Vietnam war
But remember that the cause for which the Americans the fought the Vietnamese was just...
The US may have lost the war because of internal pressure but what happened in the end?
Where is this communist Vietnam? Where has the idealogy of those North Vietnamese who gave their lives gone?

If someone needs criticism, its the Vietnamese and NOT the US.

By the way I am American but from the third world and a free country.

Our Government used the victims of 9/11 for their personal reasons to go after Saddam. Saddam had nothing to do with the attack on us. It was Bin Laden and this is the man they should have went after with the same vengeance as they did Saddam. Iraq did not ask for our help. I cannot believe Americans would actually support our Government for their reasons we are in Iraq. Think of all the folks who died on 9/11. They are probably wondering why our Government have gone after Saddam from the beginning. I want them to know that I take a stand for them and tell our Government that they need to go after the man who did this to them with the same vengeance if not more. I believe Bush had planned on going after Saddam if he got elected and 9/11 was used as that opening door. I support our troops in Iraq because they are doing their job that they are told to do but I do not support our Government because it is for the wrong reason. Folks just look at what our Government has our troops protecting the most over in Iraq, their oil. This is the reason they are dying over in Iraq for not to rid of terrorist and not certainly of 9/11 because it was not Saddam who attacked us on that day. Our Government is using their own people for their personal reasons. Wake up America and take a stand against our Governments wrongful acts.

I think it's the worst mistake this nation has ever made. We were deceived by the President and his administration into going to war with trumped up charges of weapons of mass destruction. Saddam is a scumbag who everyone wished out of power but that didn't give us the right to go in there and take him out. We were doing a half decent job containing him but that wasn't enough for Bush. Now we're into the fourth year of an engagement with no end in sight. Our great grand children will be paying for this fiasco for years to come.

I think it has taken too long, and now becomming pointless. At first, I agreed with the idea, to take out Saddam, but now that that has been done, I see no reason why the U.S. should remain in teh country. To give the Iraqi people a democracy? For what? Most of them don't even want it, heck they don't even want us in their terriroty. Why give someone something they don't want? Just because you want it? So now you have to give it to them by force just because you want it? Selfish, chaotic acts like these must be stopped because it can bring horrific consequences as we are seeing now, which just may be the beginning.

I think it's a boondoggle for a large number of non-voting corporate and foreign interests. I think it was a grand hallucination, thinking that the Iraqis would greet us as liberators. I think nobody did their homework. I think we were lied to. I think this was all about laundering money from the US treasury into shadow government operations (not unlike what happened with Iran-Contra). I think this is about a little boy who wants to show off for daddy. I think it's a goddamn tragedy that any American has to die for a people who are clearly not ready for democracy. I think it's an even bigger tragedy that Bush won't fix his miserable mistake until it destroys the Republican party. I think we lost the war when we started torturing Iraqis.
