You could get a lawyer, but that would be a waste of money. Own up to it and apologize and the judge may reduce your costs. But, you were going over 20 over, you're not getting off.

How is your record? If your record isnt that bad..you can ask for a non-moving violation and a higher fine, in New York you would ask for a failure to obey a traffic control device. What state are you in?
