constipation is a side effect of pregnacy.

it is also a side effect of any surgery - and many many other things.

Some good advice, eat 1 orange and 1 stalk of celery every day.... you can eat bran too, but the 1st two work like a charm

its not necessarily a side effect, usually its a result of. AN epidural is basically a numbing of your lower body including your excremate reflexes. IF your not numb and if you have to pee then you just go, but if you are numb then you do not have the sensation to go to the bathroom. When you have an epidural and your colon is full, you cannot feel it, so when the epidural wears off you will then feel constipated.
I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN WHEN MY BLADDER FILLED UP AND I WAS IN THE MOST EXCRUCIATING PAIN FROM THAT. I WAS ON THE FLOOR OF THE HOSPITAL AFTER I HAD MY BABY YELLING FOR THE NURSE TO COME HELP ME. THE NURSE FINALLY CAME AND EMPTIED 2 BAGS FULL OF PEE FROM MY BLADDER. AS IN BAGS I MEAN CATHETER.

not an epidural, but childbirth period.

my daughter is almost 4 months and I'm still not back to normal. :(

It's not the epidural though.
