It sounded really sophomoric the first time I heard it used, and has not improved any with overuse. It is really annoying when the person using it is as uninformed as a sack of rocks.

I agree. Another one is 'well, yeah...' when yeah is made into about 3 syllables. My boss does it - and sounds as dumb as her teenage daughter!

Personally, I like those low-brow metaphors, like "as uninformed as a sack of rocks". May I use that?

I think it represents a serious lack of vocabulary and analytical skills.
I have never used it (it's for n00bs) but I won't shoot those who do.

And yes, it's even worse when what follows is a trail of garbage.
