Geez, these three days have been bad. I binged on candy and sweets for three days straight until I couldn't eat anymore! I'm not trying to lose weight, just trying to mantain it, but I need help on how to stop! I'm afraid tomorrow will be the same, (I have a wicked bad sugar tooth, especailly if I start eating sweets). Luckily, I just ate all my candy and other bad things that were in my house, but I might lose tempation in other places!

Any tips on how to stop or resist this tempation for sugar?

I got my candy because of Halloween. So I bet when the Halloween thing dies down I might stop.

Keep a small pack of hard candy with you at all times, like Starlight mints or Werthers hard caramels. These are about 20 calories and can last about 20 minutes! Pop one when you're tempted by the candy jar.

You can also try brushing your teeth to freshen your mouth. Or use Crest Whitestrips--you can't eat for 30 minutes while they're on your teeth, and that will probably be enough time for the craving to pass.

Finally, if you really need some candy and the craving just won't pass, buy a full-size candy bar. It sounds counterintuitive, but I find that eating one mini or fun-size bar leads to another and another and another and soon I've eaten at least twice the calories of a full-size bar.

Well, the first steps are not buying it and politely refuse if someone gives it to you. If for some reason you cannot refuse- give it to someone who might not get candy often and would really appreciate it.

I have a big problem with sugar sometimes - taking glutamine (an amino acid will help with sugar and carb cravings.

One thing I like to keep in mind that helps a lot for me is to remember not to sacrifice the future on the alter of right now- besides gaining weight, sugar robs your bones and body of precious vitamins and minerals, weakens the bones and robs you of energy- though my cravings are sometimes strong- keeping these things in mind will encourage me to even throw the candy in the trash - I might wish I had it the next day but I know I am the healthier for it.

I have the same problem. And the only way I can resist it is if I don't buy it. If it's in the house I'll end up eating it. And if I am really having trouble I'll chew on some mint gum. That seems to help out a little bit.

Hmm... if you like anything healthy, try eating it instead of candy. I have a sugar tooth too, and sometimes it's hard to say no, but I have to. Halloween is pretty much over now, so good luck!!!!!!!

Give that candy away. Get some good raw veggies to eat when you start that nervous eating. It's just a matter of changing your habits.
Mind over matter resist temptation. Challenge yourslf. Reward yourself when you've been good. (and you don't have to do it with food)
