Ceramic is always best and if you're needing one, I would say get a CHI iron. I use it on my clients that are African American all the time and they cant believe how straight it gets their hair. I use a heat protectant and an oil sheen spray w/ it and their hair looks beautiful.

well, Conair makes a ceramic flat iron that is da bomb! Its the Wet-Dry kind and I can just jump out the shower and flat iron my natural hair bone straight, yes i said it, NATURAL HAIR getting flat ironed. It's that good! Its red and its Omega shaped, so that it will bump your hair when you straighten it! And it heats in 30 secs. How great!
