ok I want on real bad but I'm not a big fan of pain and I hate needles!!!... Is there a way to numb my lip so it won't hurt...dose it hurt that bad.. on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad dose it hurt?

None of these people know what they're talking about.
I have two lip piercings. It hurt more while they were healing than when they were pierced (the pain goes away within a week - use ice on the outside and drink ice water for internal soreness). It's a very quick pinch. Biting your tongue hurts a lot worse.
- I have never caught my liprings on anything.
- I do not have "big nasty holes" in my lips (before I put in a larger gauge of jewelry, you couldn't even tell they were pierced when I took the jewelry out).
- If you take care of it, it will not get infected. I have MANY piercings and have only had ONE get infected. That was because I was camping for a week, about two weeks after I got it done and had forgotten to bring my aftercare stuff with me. If you do sea salt soaks (visit www.bmezine.com for more information on aftercare and how to do sea salt soaks properly) and avoid mouthwash with alcohol in it (I use Biotene), you will be fine.
- I have absolutely NO damage to my teeth or gums. My piercer took the time to line up my piercings to where they wouldn't rub up on my teeth or gums. If you go to a reputable piercer (check for one in your area at www.safepiercing.org), they will do the same.
- There is no point to numbing your lip. It takes longer for the numbing cream to take effect than it does for the piercing to be done and over with. It really doesn't hurt all that much. Like I said, biting your tongue hurts a lot worse.

they probably will have somethign to numb it if you ask. i have my navel numbed when i got it pierced. didnt work that well it still hurt. but its worth a shot. im also afraid of needles and pain. but i still go through with everythign cause the pain is only temporary. heck i just got to cartilede piercings 2 weeks ago. lol they burned for over 8 hours and hurt for a week. just remember the pain is only temoporary! and pain shoudl not be the deciding factor if you really want it. just make sure you take care of it. just close your eyes an d hold a friends hand =D thats what i did. lol almost broke her hand too, so she says lol

It doesn't hurt, on a scale I would say about 5. I would suggest not getting one though as even though it looks nice, it can rub on your gums and cause the gum to wear away, not pretty. I had one for about 6 months and even though I loved it, I had to take it out, it wore my gums away so bad that now I have to get surgery to fix the gums, which will cost me $4000, much more than the $50 I paid to get the piercing in the first place.

Biting you lip hurts, so I can only imagine its a painful spot to pierce. By the way, I've heard that lip rings damage your teeth, so think about it carefully before you decide.

you can not numb it from what i know... or could findand it hurt really bad like a 8 and 1/2

theres rele no way 2 numb anything thats about 2 get pierced! if u want it that bad id suggest goin n there with sumone who u can hold their hand r sumthin cuz ur jus gonna hafta suck it up! i hear there pretty painful, but im sure if u get some1 whos done alot itll be quick!

Try being different from everyone and NOT get a piercing. It's painful, can get infected and frankly VERY OVERDONE anymore. Wouldn't recommend it at all!

if you think the piercing pain is bad,wait til it gets caught on something[ie,sweater over your head, bath towel etc...] thats pain and it will also probably rip your piercing out!!!

i say dont get it because you really will regret it later.
what will happen when youre old and you dont want to wear it anymore? youll have a huge nasty hole in your lip.
do what you would like, but make sure you think about it before you do it.

if you ask me I think that all forms of body piercing is DUMB it is a good way to get infections, and it lookes like H.
