Why?
Just because it's their jobs?
I don't know how churches run exactly...

I have been told by missionaries they bring food and meds to the people and tell them it is from Jesus and if they follow him, they will have a better life. The thing is, after time, the missionaries leave-along with the food and meds, and the people's lives have been disrupted and they are again without needed supplies. This is cruel. It is a false way to convert people.

I do not believe in having missionaries.

We Christians feel our religion is the way to a better outlook on life and a relationship with God.
Unfortunately, the methods used by some Christians to evangelize is seen as offensive, pushy and fanatical by many, even by many Christians.
If you feel you have a need to explore Christianity further, there are many churches which don't come across as being judgmental and so readily willing to condemn people to Hell. In real Christianity we realize God is the Power, not our interpretations of the scripture.
I suggest, if you are interested, check the Episcopal Church (in the USA) or Anglican world-wide church. These churches use REASON as part of their doctrinal platform and they generally are more open to answering all questions, and at least listening to and discussing different ideas and opinions on non-salvation issues.

Perhaps we should not judge too harshly the very aggressive evangelical. Perhaps God has directed them in pursuit of certain types of persons; hopefully God is working through me to persuade different temperaments of people to look for other roads to faith.

Its the great commission. God told us to go and preach the good news to the world. Missionaries are people who feel God has called them to do this full time. I have a regular job but I also feel that I should obey God and try to reach people for Christ. And after all, I don't want anyone to end up in hell for all eternity, everyone needs the good news.

Im not sure that you understand what missionary work is... it isnt just walking into a town or country and start preaching. They go and do something that place needs, medical treatment, food banks, building homes, teaching etc...in that, they will spread the Gospel. They dont go in with guns and megaphones, though they are often met with them. Now if the people they go and help dont accept the Gospel, they dont kill them or take their stuff back.. they do their thing, witness and go.

God wants all people in the world to believe in Him, so he sends his followers out into the world to tell others about Jesus and how one can gain salvation by receiving him as their personal Lord and Savior. They are carrying out the "Great Commission."
Mat 28:18-20 Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Missionaries want to ensure that non-believers hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.

To make money... the church who sponsors missionaries rakes in millions of dollars each year and the vast majority goes to support their extravagant cars, homes, and private jets.

The actual missionaries are usually mentally ill, delusional and misguided.
