I would say b/w 200 and 250 dollars. Its not a bad deal especially if they're eating your groceries, and doing their laundry at the house. I wish I lived close enough to my parents to live with them! I'm struggling like hell right now on my own!
I wouldn't charge them more than $250.00 though (don't listen to "downers" advice). They're still your kids, they're not your renters that you're trying to make money off of. I think that's a reasonable amount for them to become prepared for the real world, and also allow them to save some money.

I don't think it's bad. If they're working, there's really no need for them to be living at home. I assume that by 'young adults' you mean that they're in their early twenties.
Of course, if they are in school or something, then I don't think it would be fair to take rent from them.
If you do decide to, make sure it's not more than $200 or $300 a month. Or why not work out something where they buy their own food and each of them pays a utility bill or something?
Another thought: I know of parents who charged rent, but when their children moved out, gave it back to them. The kids had no idea that their parents were saving up that money for them. It was very sweet, because in the end, the kids had extra money for a downpayment on a house!

The attitude iswhat matters, if you start that becasue you ahve good jobs you need to start paying rent..you are in for a shock.
have a meeting with them say after dinner, and bring up the topic that "since now you are both working, is there something you would wnat to be doing in the house so hat we can all manage the bills?" Let them know that you are treating them with respect, and you are giving them a chance to participate in decision making.
This way you will be surprised at how far they can reach out.

1/3 of utilities for each of them. If the house is paid for, have a realator or someone come out and see what they think you coul charge for rent, then charge the girls a 1/3 of that. If you're renting, make them pay a 1/3 of that.

I think that you should ask them to pay whatever 35% of the house expenses are. So if the mortgage and utilities and all of that is $1000 they should pay $350 a month each. It will build responsibility in them.

I think 200-250 is more than fair, I'm sure they eat there and use laundry detergent, as well as other cleaning supplies. They would not be able to have all of the comforts they have now anywhere else for that price. But.....boy are they gonna be mad, and I bet they dont think you have the balls to ask for the rent money monthly either. So them RESPONSIBILITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly? I wouldn´t charge them anything. I would just be glad both my daughters have good jobs. If they want to pay some of the bills, fine. Or maybe if they could buy groceries and stuff. The whole idea of having my daughters pay rent, to me, would be unthinkable.

Depends on if they're going to school, working part time or full time. Think about their situation & do the math about how much it would cost them to be living somewhere besides with you & go from there.
