Surely you must be completely sick of being lumped in with those members of your religion who are terrorists (or sympathisers), wife beaters, polygamists, pedophiles and killers of homosexuals and rape victims?
Why don't you for a new, moderate branch of Islam, so that you can hold your heads up high and tell people "I am a Moderate Muslim" (or whatever you want to call it) and people will respect you as a civilized human being? Just a friendly suggestion, it's not for me to tell you what you should do. Is there an Islamic Martin Luther out there somewhere?

No such thing. Was there a "moderate nazi"? Sure, there were some nazis who turned their head and let the jew escape, but does that make them a moderate nazi?
Islam is a religion. Islam has many followers who will threaten anyone that says things they dont like. This, and this alone, is what keeps honest academics from labeling Islam as a facist enterprise or genocidal idealogy.
Can something, which is inheritally radical be moderate? What I mean is, Islam is radical, so saying "moderate muslim" makes as much sense as saying "moderate nazi".

I just want to say a couple of things,
Most of the other Muslims in my (Public, multi-cultural, multi-religous) school are pretty strictly religous.
All of them love peace, hate murderers and rapists, and condemn terrorism.
It's not Islam that makes people do the bad things that they do.
Those Muslims that do bad in those countries are like baby kittens that have been stepped on so many times, that they've gone crazy.
Most muslims are not terrorists, wife beaters, polygamists, killers, or sexual abusers.
Personally, my life goal is to be either a Martin Luther King Jr., or a Gandhi.
I'm sick of terrorists being lumped with me.
Just as christians were once sick of the KKK being lumped with them.
The worst man in the last 100 years was not Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, or Hindu.
Hitler burned bibles and crosses in his Nazi Germany.
I bet Germans are sick of Hitler being lumped with them.

Here here! Except that, conceited as it sounds, shouldn't *our* "moderate" islam be considered the true Islam? The one without exaggerations, cultural hyperbole, or things taken out of context?
There are many, many wonderful moderate Islamic leaders out there, not just with a religious title, but as singers and teachers as well, to name a few.
A problem is that Islam encourages a strong unity between Muslims, the creation of a faithful ummah, or community, that will stand together. This sounds like a good thing, right? Except that some take it to mean that a person's identity as a Muslim erases any wrongdoing, at least when confronting foreigners. We, as a people of one faith, need to put aside our differences (what the hell? I've seen Sunnis and Shi'a more similar than siblings) and get our voice heard as a people with power who will not be messed with or exploited.
Who's with me?! *insert more hair-raising, propaganda phrases here and hope someone listens*

Wow, your questions seem to show ia lack of knowledge of what true Islam is. All of your accusations could be any religion. One of the most beautiful things about Islam is that it is still practiced by those of us who practice it truly, in its original form. Islam does not need to be changed.
The terrorists that claim to do things in the name of Islam have no idea of what true Islam is, nor will they ever know what paradise is.
As for your other accusations, the polygamy, the pedophiles, the killers of homosexuals and rape victims, these are all things that are done by many religions.
polygamy - Mormon Church practices it on a much more widespread amount, and with no limit on wives.
Pedophiles - - Catholic Priests are experts on this.
Murderers of homosexuals and rape victims - this is done culturally, not religiously.
Visit some Islamic websites and find the answers to your question.

well! there is not a term moderate i believe in,as far as this aspect is concerned.person who does such thing is NOT a muslim,or only a muslim by name.muslim is one who follow teachings of Islam,and teachings of Islam totally contradict these acts....so i am proud to be muslim,a muslim in real who follow Islamic teachings from Oneness of God,to equality,fraternity,tolerance.....
