just curious how various religions might receive their meal. Atheists feel free to join in if you offer a toast or whatever, too.

Lord, thank you for this meal and bless the hands that prepared it. We love you and thank you for all you have given us, in Jesus' name, amen.

I don't know nothing about religious have to does. Under grace we have liberty to pray over our meal if we wish. If we have believed and trusted that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins then we should thank Him for all things because He did it all for us. 1 Thessalonians 5: 17 Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5: 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Lord bless this food and make it nourishment for my body in Jesus name amen.

or as my daddy use to say

God food, good meat, God Lord let's eat.

I'm Christian and my Dad doesn't practice any religion. Not sure what that makes him but I still love him.

Did you Know that if all Ducks in a Row, if Something is wrong with the Food and you Pray--The Father will keep you from Harm?

Excellent question!

I usually don't give thanks for every meal, but on special occasions, I will pray silently to myself before digging in and it's usually something like this:

"Thank you Lord and Lady, for your life-giving and life-bringing bounty. I eat this food and think of you this (insert holiday here) night, and wish that you be with me and those I love at this special time. So mote it be."

I don't really have anything written down or set in stone, but that's about the gist of it.

Oh, and for reference: I'm a solitary eclectic Wiccan.
