I got an answer of the answer sheet! Because there is so many people in the USA and there may be thousands of David Brown or David Davis. So they name a third name and stick it in there.
David paul Davis. Have a better chance of finding the one you want. Mexicans name their children the middle name is their mothers last name.
Like Destiny baker gonzales Or Rebecca lewis Hernandez.
Because without it you may not find the person you are looking for. Some now are even coming up with a fourth name.
In new york phone book their may be a thousand people named Paul Micheal Gonzales, so they ask that they come up with a fourth name, that is very unusual. Like Paul Micheal Gonzales III

I don't know why, I think American's want to be different..and the names are just the same as two of our names..although they sometimes say there first and middle names together..even without the lil hyphon.. Sounds the same though. My fiance is from America and she's called Katie lynn, but i thought it was Katie-lynn from what i'd heard :/ it is stupid though.

we don't use the hyphen in those names, though. Mostly it is used when they have two last names, from both parents, or from keeping the maiden name in a marriage. The last form is because the woman has an established business practice in her maiden name, and wishes to keep that name for clientele to know it's her and still take on her husband's name.

it is usually a tag of both the first and middle names. First name is Peggy middle Sue, last is whatever. Mary-lou retton is an example. it is actually Mary Lou Retton, but her parents probably called her that all her life.

Americans don't always do that but the ones who do probably got it from the French:

Jean-Claude
Jean-Pierre
Charles-Jean, etc...

My ancestors were French, so don't boo me. :)
