She is my first cat and I've had her since she was 6 wks old. Last night I had to take my dachshund to my moms (we day it's her boyfriend), and since then she'll meow very loud. Could she just miss him. When do cats go in heat? She's up to date on all shots but I haven't had her spayed for some reason-which needs to be done soon anyway. She's strictly an inside cat, if she were in heat wouldn't she try to go outside?

Anytime an animal is removed from a home another is going to miss it. Cats meow for a reason. If you cat is a tabby it will particularly meow an sometimes howl. She misses the dachshund. If the dog cannot come back soon give her a stuffed animal to play with and lots of love as she may feel lonely and she might be the next to go away.

Female cats are known to go into heat anywhere around 6 months of age, so her being in heat could definetly be the problem. And yes, I'm sure she's missing her "boyfriend". Did the problem start before or after you removed the dog from the home? That would be the most important clue to the answer you are looking for.

It's wonderful that she is strictly an indoor cat, and that she is UTD on her vaccinations, but it is equally important to have her spayed. Having her spayed will not only keep her from reproducing, but it has many other health related benefits also, such as her chances of suffering from ovarian or breast cancer are greatly reduced.

If she's always been an indoor cat, she might not try to go outside when she comes into heat.

If the cat grew up with the dog from 6wks till now, it's very possible that the cat misses the dog. If they are the type of pets that cuddle sometimes and the cat rubs up against the dog, they like each other, and they could miss each other. if the above is not the case yeah then maybe she's in heat but I would have thought she'd try to get out of the house. too anyways make the spay appt. asap and bring the dog home, and everyone will be happy. Good Luck!!

Your cat is probably in heat. They meow very loudly and like to have their butt in the air. They like to rub on things to. If this is what your cat is doing then she is in heat, and will be for the next few days. After she goes out of heat I would have her spayed. Now that she is at the age of doing this, it will happen often, and it can get own your nerves with the cries that she bellows out. You will need to watch her, because she can spot blood also when she is in heat. Good Luck!

A cat that is not spayed will engage in several behaviors to try and attract a mate. She often will meow and wail quite loudly hoping any male cat in the vicinity will hear her. She also will mark her territory with urine to allow male cats to know that she is available. Spaying your cat will not only stop these behaviors but will help prevent unwanted kittens.

She may be in heat. Is she rubbing you or wanting more attention than normal? This is going to sound weird but is she sticking her butt in the air??

Some cats just like to vocalize also, my male cat will meow at bed time and walk around with a small stuffed animal in his mouth while meowing. We call the animal his baby and he just carries it around and talks for a bit then he goes to bed. He is fixed and he has 3 siblings. It his strange vocalizing that we have just gotten used to.

well she could well be on heat, is she padding and raising her rear while mewing. if you touch her back is she moving her tail to one side, also she will seem a little most around her female bits if she is in heat. get her spayed as soon as is possible. most vets charge more for spaying an adult uterus than a kittens. so if its just that she was missing your dog and shes not in heat , getting her spayed sooner rather than later can have its advantages

cats are actually constantly in heat from the time they are six to ten months old until they are fixed or bred, so, odds are she is and it became more obvious once the dog was gone. loud voccalization and cuddlyness are the most obvious signs of a cat in heat. I would get her fixed asap because many cats become more adventurous once they go in heat.

As silly as it may sound, she could be missing the pup. She should be old enough to come into heat though too. Cats are real talkers too! They sure have a way of keeping us curious about what's on their mind.

She misses her little hotdog. If there is a male cat around and if she is in heat you will know it, she will try like heck to get to the tomcat. Good Luck and please get her spayed right away for her health and safety. Regards KG
