I have great faith in the Lord our God and I try to live by his way and do what is right by Him each day. I have not been brain washed or converted in anyway;but I do understand why you think Christians could be. There are alot of churches that do I believe try to persuade ones' thought. There are many people who pretend to love God and live by His way but yet they are the first ones to drink,commit adultry and pass judgement --and that is all done after Saturday night church service. What I don't understand on your end though- is WHY not try God-what do you have to lose except eternal love in his great beyond? Being an atheist just leaves nothing but dark and cold to look for in the future. You see, I don't try to convert-I suggest-but you have to live your life and if you want loneliness and darkness to follow you--hey-that is something you will have to deal with.

Christians...who are right in the head don't inflict harm on people physically.. (Secondly), Even if a fellow Christian wanted to tell someone about what they believe in, they would do it by example, being themselves living their lives doing what they do.. (Thirdly) Its God, through the work of the holy spirit that changes lives.

The Christians a few hundred years ago used to pour hot lead into non-believers ears. The Christians have killed over 100 million in wars, crusades, inquisitons, witch-burnings, etc. Maybe in 10 years, they'll be up to their old tricks again. The Christians need another president like Bush for 8 years.

I was once a brainwashed Christian filled with lies and told other religions were evil and were false. Then I grew up and found out the TRUTH that Christianity is all a lie and want to share it with others.

When I was only 12, a group of Christians, including the 'friends' I thought I had just made, scared me half to death that I was going to burn in Hell for eternity. This is false, and evil to do to a child.

Hari Chrishnas stole my Aunty away from Australia to America never to see her family again. And then they tried to get my Dad when he tried to rescue her, but he was way too smart for that, but now my mum can't go near incense because it reminds her of the brain washing.

Someone asked me over dinner if I believed in Jesus.
I asked them if they wanted me to be honest ?
They said yes ,i gave my answer as No.They then proceeded to berate me and tell me I was going to hell and that I should take back what i said. Well my dinner was ruined and even though those people liked me for years ,they are now keeping me at a distance and talking very little to me .
I Am still the same person they liked before they asked me ..
What gives.

Well I am not atheist, I am agnostic, but what they tried to do is tell everyone when I was around my family that I did not believe in God, like I was going to be embarrassed or something. It made me laugh so much. It taught me that people who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

Do Christians really physically torture atheists to try to convert them? I've never heard of this, but I'm really curious if it actually happens or not.

The same way that atheist try to brain wash or unconvert Christians.
Fortunately the friends I have that are atheist have agreed to leave me alone and I have agreed to return the favor and we get along fine.
Last I check, God wanted you to come to him willingly not by force.
