Sorround yourself with positive things. Take time for yourself and splurge on making you feel good. Rahter it be a pampering bath with music that energize you and a glass of wine or a funny movie with popcorn and soda.

Write down all the good things that are in your life, or even those that were in your life in the past. Make it a game. Throw a quarter in a jar every time you have a depressing thought. Throw a dollar in every time you have a happy thought. Next week, take the money and buy yourself something nice, even a couple quarts of ice cream.
Then figure out a way to get the past good things back in your life.
Remember all the time that there are many people who are a lot worse off than you. Little kids with cancer, for example. People who were crippled by a drunk driver.

Don't know what specifically happened to you to make you feel down. The suggestions of talking to friends, playing with pets and listening to music are all good ones. A warm bath can make you feel good, too. And a good, long, hard cry can help release the pain. Sometimes it's best to go through your pain first rather than just trying to cover it up with a forced smile. Good luck!

exercise such as taking a walk can help, call a friend you can really open to, play with a pet. also, taking time to adjust ones view of the circumstance. many times it isn't the circumstance but our view of it that affects it. but also keep in mind if something did just happen (and you are not holding on to it for long time) maybe you just need to let yourself hurt for abit.

try playing music; soft, calm, maybe classical. Heavy metal and rap usually don't work.
