"Disciple" is the word: that's where the word "discipline" comes from.

Disciple: 1 : one who accepts and assists in spreading the doctrines of another: as a : one of the twelve in the inner circle of Christ's followers according to the Gospel accounts b : a convinced adherent of a school or individual

Apostle: one of an authoritative New Testament group sent out to preach the gospel and made up especially of Christ's 12 original disciples and Paul.

Paul calls himself by three titles, an Apostle of Christ, A bond-slave of Christ, A prisoner of Christ. I don't think he uses the title of disciple at all.

I wonder why the first poster reported this question. Yes, I think He was a student of Christ, like I am. He studied Christ's teachings, so that qualifies.

Hello.

I hope all is well with you.

Paul refers to himself as a Disciple of Christ, but also refers to himself as a slave, etc.

He wasn't really a student, since he wasn't converted until Christ was already passed. His conversion was completed by the Spirit of Jesus who knocked him off of his horse on the way to Demascus. He was "electrified" into the faith. I wish we were all inspired the same way. Perhaps we wouldn't be so worried about our selfishness.

Hope all is well. I wish you the best.

Yes. He is a disciple and one of the apostles because he had an encounter with Christ face to face.
