my first question is...a 2004 why do you think the bearings are bad. this is not normal for a 3 yr old car. Any how...you pull the wheels...then remove the brake calipers. Then undo the center hub bolt and pull the hubs. the outer bearings will come out ok...but you must use a punch and hammer to remove and replace the race. the drive axles...more complicated...remove the wheels...then you must remove the rear cover of the differential. push in on the axle and a 'C" clip will come off. Remove the axle then use a puller to remove the bearing. replace these in the opposite order being sure to use new seals.

That's a brief discription of how it's done.

as already mentioned most all new trucks and cars have hub assemblies which means you replace the lug studs and spindle all together usually 4 bolts hold this on from the back side. good luck

You replace the hub assembly.Newer cars and trucks don`t have inner and outer replaceable brgs anymore .
