Sinful of course. You are bad until you learn good. I mean babies are cute and all but they are totally self centered. You really don't learn to be selfless until you are a bit older. That is just my thoughts of the nature of the naturaully sinful human being.

That and it takes a lot of work to not be sinful. Even for a day or two.

I believe we are born innocent, so the answer would be "neither." You have to be aware of the will of God to sin. Babies are still developing the mental capacity to do basic tasks. It might help to study Piaget and child development. I also believe that the Atonement of Jesus Christ covers for the misdeeds and sins through ignorance committed by little children. This is from a Mormon point of view. The idea of 'original sin' is not part of my belief system. We do, however, inherit physical death from Adam, and the Atonement of Jesus Christ also covers that. Have a happy day.

Like good Bereans (Acts 17:11), let's search the Scriptures:

Ps 51:5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

I believe we are born sinful. I was always taught the sin of Adam (and Eve) passed on to us. Because of this, we needed Christ. Christ was the ultimate sacrifice, which is why many of the Old Testament Laws are no longer followed.

I believe we are born sinful because we are all descended from Adam and Eve. I believe children who haven't reached the "age of accountability," whatever age that might be, are innocent. So, I don't think children are bound by the law, at least not until they reach the age of reason and understanding.

We are born with a sin nature... not meaning we sin already but will eventually. We are not born eating meat or vegetables but we will. It is part of our nature to eat meat and veggies as much as it is our nature to eventually sin.

We are all born into sin. We have to learn to do what is right in the sight of God.

At the risk of sounding harsh, it doesn't really matter what you or I think about this. The bible (which is God's word) tells us that we are born sinful. We can think what we like but that doesn't change the fact.

That being said, Christ died for our sins and paid for our salvation so we can rejoice in our reconcilation.
