Many sources claim that early-mid 90s VW made in Mexico have all sorts of problems after a while. For instance, if you don't keep the tank full or almost full at all times after a while your fuel pump goes out. Also, small interior parts are allegedly fall apart after extended use. Normally, Brazilian and German made Golfs are much better.

They are pretty good cars, but like many German cars, GROSSLY OVERPRICED. A decent one will cost 4 figures, which for any average 10 year old car is a rip off. You could have a Jaguar for hardly any more, and the Jaguar wouldn't even use a Golf owner to wipe it's shoes!!

find out what country it was manufactured in (Germany or Mexico) makes all the difference. Should be visible sticker on the car. As well, diesel or gas? How many kilometers or miles? There are too many variables..VW is generally a good brand but have produced many lemons. Do your research first. Find a website that can track accidents, mileage on the car before you buy.

Yes they Are, GTI would be better But then you'd be a boy racer and you'd have to drive like a pri*k and change your name to Kev and date school girls

can`t go wrong with that german engineering, near bullet proof engines and good body work. if its in good nick and got all the papers go for it
