gather up all the dogs poop and put it in a pile at their front door.
ok, seriously...there should be a bi-law regarding cleaning up your dogs poop. I'm sure you could look it up on your cities website.

If politely asking your neighbor to stop allowing his dog on your property doesn't work you could call the dog catcher or the humane society. You could also buy these signs that look like a no smoking sign but instead of a cigarette it has a dog humped over taking a poop, they are kinda humorous, but will possibly get the point across. I had this problem with a neighbor, and I tried everything and nothing worked, so (i know it sounds immature, but I was pissed off) I scooped up the poop and started flinging it in his yard, it didn't take long for the dog to stop pooping in my yard. Our town also has a $300 fine if your dog is caught pooping in someones yard and you don't clean it up.

Check with city hall to see if there are ordinances in place regarding leash laws and scooping poop. Our city has a leash law, but presently, dogs can poop anywhere. Then animal control or the police can take action.
Another option is to have a nice conversation with your neighbor. If that doesn't work, then scoop the poop back onto his lawn. Good luck.

We have this same problem with two dogs across the street.
I don't mind having to tend to my own dogs mess, but I am not fond of having others leaving their business behind.
These people aren't out with their dogs, as we are with ours. You can speak to your neighbors directly, politely, or go to the town/village board and let them know of your situation and that you're very unhappy about it. Or merely place a call to the town/village hall, and speak to someone who can and will speak with the neighbors. You do not need to leave your name.
If all else fails, call the local shelter, ask for advise.. or call the police. I wouldn't do the last, as it's not yet that necessary.
You could scoop it up, place it in a bag and take it over to the neighbor.
What many people fail to realize, their animal may be carrying something that could very well make your dog ill: worms - fleas - skin issues - etc.
I worry about those dogs attacking mine, as it seems their intention..

Most town have leash laws. Call the cops every time you see the dog roaming free. You could also video tape it, then take your neighbor to small claims court. But I think it's best to just go talk to your neighbor and see if you can work something out.

Gather the offending material and toss it into the street. When the neighbor (and all the other neighbors) get tired of running over and bringing the objects home to the garage, word will get around. And no uncomfortable conversations.
Since dogs will always return to "their" material for a quick sniff, owner will start asking himself, "how does fido's dung keep ending up in the middle of the street?"

I have a neighbor a few doors down who constantly brought his Sheltie to MY lawn to crap and pee. I finally had enough, went out and picked it up in a bag, left it on his doorstep, and "accidentally" stepped on it as I walked away, leaving a nice sticky mess he had to hose off his porch. Nasty? YEP! Did it work? YEP!
I walk my dogs to a local field for their business, and I pick it up and leave it in a city garbage can. I'm responsible and I thought others were too. After watching this "neighbor" do what he did for weeks, I lost my mind. I wasn't going to go ask him all nice if he could stop that, I needed to take action to this creep with no respect for others property. I'm glad I did what I did, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat:)

Most states have leash laws, and laws about dogs being confined to the owners yard. If you don't want to involve the law...call your neighbor over then hand then a shovel and a bag and tell them to clean up after their dog

In the majority of cities there is in place what is called a "Leach Law" in other words animals can not run freely. They are required to be in there own yards, otherwise it is a crime, The first person to contact would be your local police station and let them know about the situation. They may ask you to call the Humane Society or they will call themselves, but the police is your first course of action.
