I just bought a Canon PowerShot A530, which is nice generally but which seems notorious for being part of a family of entry-level Canon digital cameras susceptible to the dreaded "E18" error, apparently typically associated with dust or fine grit having gotten into the lens arrangement (the lens extrude automatically before the camera is ready to take pictures).
