Native American Words in English?
I dont understand my homework and am in desprite need of help...

Here are the directions:

Each of the English words in the left colum of the chart originally cam from an American Indian language. Use a dictionary to find the language from which each word came, its original form, and its original meaning. Then fill in the chart.

This is what is looks like:

Can someone please help me because I have looked and looked for hours and I can't find anything. Thanks a bunch!!

if you look in the dictionary, at the end of the definitions it will say the origin for instance the dictionary says:

raccoon- 1608, Amer.; earlier raugroughcun (john smith),etc. Virginia Algonquian (E sp.) aroughcun.

so just look each word up and you should see this at the bottom

I can tell you this:

Moc ca sin (emphasis on the last syllable) is an Algonquin word. It is present in Lene Lenape as the same.

A dictionary is a book or computer-based resource that has information about words, including their etymologies.
