We've all heard about afterlife at some point or the other, but do you truly believe in them? It is mentioned in many religions yet are they really there? Do you get whisked away into another world full of different beings and dangerous devices after you die? Is there Heaven and Hell? I was just wondering.... Hopefully you can answer my question.

This can not be know because dead men don't talk. The only answers you will received on this matter are ones that come from mythological superstitious and what people believe to be true, in which they can provide absolutely no evidence. Don't get me wrong there are some hustlers out there that can make it sound like there really is something after we die, but in the end there is no proof and they can not provide it. Do I hope that there is an after life, you bet I do, It would be nice to go to a nice place after I die and to not die would be a plus, but I can't in good conscience tell you something that I have absolutely no proof of.

Depends what you believe, I suppose. I believe in what the Bible states. If I am good enough to be saved, when I die, I will sleep, with no thoughts, memories, or dreams. When Jesus returns, he will kill many of the non-believers/ sinners/ and unsaved people.
He will then resurrect all of the saved people. These people will have a new, perfect body- like God's. Without decay or want for anything.
Heaven is actually this planet ( big shock for those who don't know what the Bible states, or who listens to a misguided/misguiding preacher who wants their money ) - except Jesus will renew it/ make it new again, making it perfect, so there is total peace among all people, animals, etc.
After living with Jesus here for 1000 years, the White Throne Judgment will happen, and the saved will witnessed those not saved, being resurrected, judged before Jesus and then thrown into the Lake of Fire- to be instantly burned up, like dried grass.
After that, God will return to Earth, to be with all of the saved people forever.
So, you see, there is good reason to try your hardest to be a good person and follow in Jesus' footsteps/ example.
Hell, as referred to in the Bible, is literally, the grave. Gehenna, I believe- as the bible states, is the Lake of Fire I referred to. It will only last momentarily, not a lifetime as some religions would like you to believe. Study the Bible, and you'll find this all to be true.

The Bible tells me there is an afterlife, so I believe it.

BUT, if you are not a believer, maybe this will help:
To gain a good position in the afterlife, you need to love God, therby trying to lead a life pleasing to Him.

If there's no afterlife, then we've just lead a good life, and lost nothing.
But if there IS an afterlife, the believer goes to heaven and the non-believer goes to hell, losing EVERYTHING.

Believers are in a win-win situation.
Non-believers are just hedging their bets.

In short.

Only 144,000 will got to heaven. The rest of us will be ressurected in a paradise.

Nowhere in the bible does it states we will burn in hell.

The word "resurrection" is translated from the Greek word a·na´sta·sis, which literally means "a standing up again." Hebrew translators of the Greek have rendered a·na´sta·sis with the Hebrew words techi·yath´ ham·me·thim´, meaning "revival of the dead." Thus, resurrection involves raising the person from the lifeless condition of death-reactivating the life pattern of the individual.

Being infinite in wisdom and perfect in memory, Jehovah God can easily resurrect a person. Remembering the life pattern of dead ones-their personality traits, their personal history, and all the details of their identity-is not a problem for him. (Job 12:13; compare Isaiah 40:26.) Jehovah is also the Originator of life. Hence, he can readily bring back to life the same person, giving him or her the same personality in a newly formed body. Moreover, as the experience of Lazarus indicates, Jesus Christ is both willing and able to resurrect the dead.-Compare Luke 7:11-17; 8:40-56.

The Scriptural teaching of the resurrection, however, is not compatible with the doctrine of the immortality of the soul. If an immortal soul survived death, no one would need to be resurrected, or brought back to life. Indeed, Martha expressed no thought about an immortal soul that was living on elsewhere after death. She did not believe that Lazarus had already gone to some spirit realm to continue his existence. On the contrary, she showed her faith in God's purpose to reverse the effects of death. She said: "I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day." (John 11:23, 24) Likewise, Lazarus himself related no experiences of some afterlife. There was nothing to report.

Clearly, according to the Bible, the soul dies and the remedy for death is the resurrection. But billions of people have died since the first man, Adam, walked the earth.

Well this was supposed to be short but.......

I can, there is a heaven and a hell after you die. Its all there in the bible. I highly encourage you to read it (go to biblegateway.com if you don't have a bible) and decide for yourself. Start at the book of John. Its your choice, you can choose to believe in the Lord and his son Jesus, or spend eternity in hell. There is not a more serious decision in all your life. Spend some time and learn about it and you will believe.

I have seen and talked to dead people, so .... yeah, I believe in the afterlife. I don't know if I would call it "heaven", but there are no worries, no pains, just love.

Ask a Seed if there is an afterlife? Or go ask a caterpillar? They'll tell you a resounding "Yes".
