please don't say only through Jesus because that just breeds more intolerance. Because it automatically excludes all non christians from ever helping with the problem.

We can wipe out intolerance through education and a willingness to be understanding.
we can wipe out intolerance by not allowing ourselves to blindly follow what someone else says.
If we were to all practice having an open mind as well as an open heart, we could wipe out intolerance.

Intelerance?
We probably cannot wipe it out right away, but we can be tolerant of all that, which does not harm others or other creatures, the earth and the planets, and is just a different point of view. We can only start with ourselves. Cordially, India.Magica

Should tolerance be a loftier goal than love or truth? Should we have tolerance for everything? What about child pornography...
I speak not of forcing religion upon anyone, or disrespecting anyone...but the message of the Gospel in and of itself is intolerant. Yet it is the perfect wisdom of a perfect God. Is tolerance really the ultimate goal?

Maybe, But Jesus showed us how.
Through Freedom and Human Rights, the path the West has taken these past 5 centuries as religious tolerance, racial equality, equal rights for women, protections in the law against discrimination for creed, sex, nationality or any reason, and now marriage rights for gay/lesbian people we have learned how to live in peace with our neighbor regardless of whom may move in next door. And anyone can!
This is not true in non-christian countries.

Send a fundamentalist to college and then there is no fundamentalists. Helen Keller said "One of the benefits of education is tolerance." I am not very educated, myself, so I do not pretend to be better than anyone. I am more tolerant than some, however..

you can't
most organized religions state that they are right and everyone else is wrong. This is unfortunate but accurate.
I am all for tolerance-I believe in God just not all the B.S. associated with a specific religion-- that is why I am a deist.

You can't, really. There are too many ignorant people that point the finger at everybody else in this world to hang on to the hope that one day everyone will get along. The best chance you have is to hope for acceptance.

Why do you get to set a rule and your rule is others can't set a rule. This is as much intolerance as any other. You can't tolerate the Christians rules
