I'm sorry, I live in Florida. I don't know about any doctors in San Jose, but you may be able to get some advice from people who live in that area if you go to a local support group. Here is some info for a support group in your area that I got off the internet:
San Jose / Santa Clara - Hepatitis C Support Group
Meets 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month; 3-5 pm
St. Francis Episcopal Church, Newport & Pine Streets (Willow Glen area), Wickham Room - in the back of the church, enter from the parking lot on Pine Street
Phone:408-734-3516
Contact Susi Nielson (svlcraighcv@yahoo.com) for more information.
Support group for those living with hepatitis C.

Even though it's a Hep C support group, the same type of doctors treat Hep B. You may be able to talk to the people there and see who has a good doctor that they like. One thing I always suggest to people in our support group; make sure your doctor has a large percentage of patients with hep b or c. You want a doctor who is up to date on the most current treatments and research since information is constantly being updated. You don't want someone who is inexperienced or not up to date on the latest protocol. Best wishes to you.
