What do I set my video recorder to?

Use a scart to connect your freeview box to your vcr, your vcr to your tv and your freeview box to your tv - it's less complicated than it sounds as most tvs today have 2 scart sockets.

Then you need to tune your vcr into the av channel that receives freeview. On my vcr, it tunes in automatically to the av1 channel because of the scart connection. If this isn't the case for you, you're going to have to dig out your instruction book to see how to tune in. But make sure your freeview box and terrestrial channels are playing different programmes when you do this so you don't get muddled up.

Hope this is of use, and apologies if it sounds terribly confusing - it isn't really!

You will need to attach a scart lead from the freeview box to your video recorder. (there may be two scart connections on your video marked as Euro AV1 and Euro AV2 ) It does not really matter which one you use, however when you come to record from the freeview box, you need to set the video to record on channel AV1 or AV2, depending on which connection socket you have used. To do this, when you come to record, instead of pressing 1 for bbc1, 2 for bbc2 etc, you need to press the channel button on your remote control until L1 or L2 shows on the display or on screen. If this does not work, you may have a button marked "input" on your remote, in which case press it until L1 or L2 appears on screen or on the video display.
I hope this solves your problem.

On the AV channel on your television you should be able to tune in your freeview,as your video is tuned into your television, this should mean that when recording through your television your video will record the freeview channels.

connect the aerial on wall to the freeview input, connect the freeview output scart to the input scart of the recorder and same with the aerial. recorder output scart goes to tv and the output aerial to the input aerial of tv.

to recorder freeview, select the connection input of freeview (ie. av2 instead of channels 1-5) and programme in time etc.....
when u recorder from freeview, you cannot change channels on the freeview unless u have freeview in the tv.

You have two cable holes at the back of your vcr. Put the free view cable into one and run the cable that's in your vcr into the back of your tv as normal. This sends the signal to your vcr.
