I had salmonella poisoning from fried rice, its not nice, spent 10 days in hospital.

Believe me, if youve got it, you will know it. Its the most agonising thing apart from child birth Ive experienced.

You will poo constantly and it will be the most agonising pain, it doubled me up in pain, I was sweating buckets, couldnt walk or stand up, vomiting continually, I had bruises around my bum from sitting on the loo so much and bruises on my knees from kneeling over the loo to puke. I couldnt see properly, my eyesight was totally unfocused, I was shaking like I had malaria and I had a high fever, halucinations and my speech was affected.

You certainly wouldnt be sitting on your pc typing if you had it!

I was unable to get out of bed without help, my poor husband had to lift me on and off the loo, I was crying out with the pain.

If you just have an upset tummy, take pepto bismol, loperamide etc.

I dont really think you have it if you are able to sit and type.

If you are worried about someone else, basically if they are unable to hold down water for less than about 30 seconds, call your doctor. If they are holding down water, even if its just little sips, its probably just a nasty bug.
