Most of the time a cup of coffee will perk me right up, but occasionally, I will get a dose of caffeine with hopes of rejuvenation and it will do the opposite and send me right to a nap. What is with that? Does this happen to anyone else? If so, why?

Caffeine is a stimulant as you know, however if you are OD'ing on coffee, your body will start responding with shutting down or an exhilarated feeling of exhaustion, especially if you are not getting enough sleep.

The warning sign I saw in your question was your hopes of rejuvenation. I think that is the culprit in your question. Answer truthfully to yourself, what are you rejuvenating from. That is the source of your problem.

I don't miss anything.

Well if you are young the side affects of caffeine can be the opposite and can get you tired more then energized. It also can be your body type that has the opposite reaction to caffeine. Or if you have caffeine or sugar, and then a few hours later you get very tired, that just means the caffeine or sugar has warn out.

I hope this info helps!!

Oh my gosh wow me too, well for me because Im not exposed to caffeine its just that I dont like the taste but as well I don't drink it at all. Let's see antioxidant herbal tea kinda helps but then i'll fall asleep easily too... Orange juice keeps me wide a wake especially at night because I get sick if I stay up too late because of school -_-
