They are a group of churches that are not a denomination, but there are so many that they might as well be. They are pretty Charismatic and very much into the gifts of the spirit in services. This might be a blanket statement so i would search the net to get a better idea.

Vineyard Churches began as a spin-off of the Calvary Chapel movement of Southern California. Heavily entrenched in music in earlier years, many are now hyper-pentecostal.

They are non-denominational,they believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit,I had attended one in the Boston area.It was the most beautiful church as the people were very real, and knew how to love, the way Jesus intends.I was a member for almost 15 years,God I miss my home, and my people.I was a single mom at the time and they ministered to my kids and my self with so much compassion. If your considering going I think you will find it a wonderful place to get fed, great worship, and fellowship. This was my experience.Be blessed

John Wimber was a founding leader of the Vineyard. His influence profoundly shaped the theology and practice of Vineyard churches from their earliest days until his death in November 1997.
Rodney Howard-Browne does the slain in the Spirit and "holy laughter" thang.
Oral Roberts proclaimed Howard-Browne’s ministry as the beginning of "another level in the Holy Spirit."
I would never go to one of these churches.

vineyard is pretty free. they accept manifestations of the Holy Spirit, miracles, tongues, etc. They're kindof more radical than Charismatics. John Wimber was the founder a few years back.

Non-denominational Christian. Good worship music if that's your thing. Pretty low level of ritual, from earlier experience. Big fans of the "laughing" movement a few years back.
To be honest, a little flaky, but basically good people.
