it may or may not. if theres yeast, it will probally not work as microvave will almost instantly kill yeast as oppsed to and oven when the yeast has time to develop and create those bubbles. If there is no yeast, it still may not work, the outside may become dry and cracked and even burn as the middle stays raw.
also a microwave stores moisture and will condense on the microwave sides and cause a humid enviorment, as oppsed to the oven which uses dry heat to cook which will cause the moisture to completely evaporate, that is what the recipe is designed for so i am not completely sure of the outcome. Last the texture might not be the same.
Good luck, try borrowing your neighbors or friends oven.

I looked online and I couldn't find anything about making banana bread in the microwave. It looks like another member found one though and the chocolate chips might be really good. Let us know how it turns out. When searching I did find a recipe for crock pot banana bread. I know you already have the answer you were looking for but I'll post it anyway in case you do have a crock pot and are interested. If not someone else may be interested in the recipe. I hope you get an A on your project. Take care.
CROCKPOT BANANA BREAD
1 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 cups well mashed, over-ripe banana (2 or 3 bananas)
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. With the electric beater on low, fluff the shortening in a small bowl, until soft and creamy. Add the sugar gradually. Beat in the eggs slowly.
With a fork, beat in 1/3 of the flour mixture, 1/2 the bananas another 1/3 of the flour mixture, the rest of the bananas then the last of the flour mixture. Fold in the walnuts.
Turn into a greased and floured baking unit or a 2 1/2 quart mold or 2 pound metal coffee can and cover.
Place on a rack in the slow cooker. Cover the cooker, but prop the lid open with a twist of foil to let the excess steam excape. Cook on high for 4 to 6 hours. (Older Crockpots with plastic covers hac vents in the past!)
Cool on a rack for 10 minutes. Serve Warm.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.

If your recipe makes two pans of banana bread a long glass cake pan will work and it won't affect anything. Just put the whole recipe in it. You will probably have to adjust the cooking time because the pan isn't as tall and you won't need as long of a cook time. I do it all the time with the smaller glass pans.

Here's a link for a recipe for a chocolate chip banana bread in the microwave:
http://www.dvo.com/recipe_pages/quickneasy/Chocolate_Chip_Banana_Bread.html
I would think you could adjust to ingredients a bit if you want to exclude the chocolate, etc. But at least this will give your the parameters for how to do it in the microwave.
Good luck.
