Yes, Hollywood should make a movie about Secretariat but it would have to portray the real horse and not some cock-and-bull love story.

barbaros remarkable recovery from laminitis, the same desease that killed secretariat. i didn't think he would make it a week after contracting laminitis on top of the shattered right hind, but now every update i read he continues to improve. i hope everyone will continue to pray for him. as for secretariat, he was without a doubt the greatest race horse to ever live, when are those geniuses in hollywood going to make a movie about this amazing beast? i would be the first in line to see it.

I'll go with Barbaros amazing recovery(although it's not over yet).It always amazes me at how far medicine has advanced,I had a 3x bypass on my heart a couple of years ago and still wonder how they use veins from your leg and move them to your heart.Secretariats big heart would have been probably been found earlier today or could have caused by some disease Cigar would never have raced and became as famous as he did if they could have bred him.Look at today's industry.You win big races as a 3 or 4 year and your though racing and off to the breeding industry.No exceptions! Rockhardten,St Liam.How many Breeders cup Classic horses that are not geldings return after the age of four.That why you will never see a great horse win the Classic multiple times unless a great gelding comes along again.Native Diver once won the the Hollywood Gold Cup at the ages of 7,8 and 9.An amazing feat when you consider he carried over 130 lbs in each of those races.Now if Barbaro comes back to race again.never happen!Breeding is where his value is now.To think he would have been put under on the track until just recently.

If Barbaro continues to improve I would have to go with him of the three choices; but I think there have been bigger surprises than any of these. To me Mariah's Storm coming back after breaking her left front cannon bone as two year old and winning graded stakes races at three, and four is more amazing. She is also the dam of Giant's Causeway.
As far as tujungaro...'s statement that there are no exceptions to horses winning big races at three and four and going to the breeding shed; I disagree. Most do; but thankfully there are exceptions.

Secretariat because that is so rare and he never passed it on to any of his off-spring showing that he was born the greatest
