At my age (I'm embarrassed to say 34) it is bugging me that I have no sexual history and yet whoever I do start having sex with is bound to have had quite a few partners (honestly, even if she is only 20 or so). I feel it will be a mismatch and I would feel really weird about it, like I'm inadequate or something. I'm really interested in what women have to say about this.

First, I applaud you for waiting. Too many young people are having sex without the maturity to handle what it means and the possible consequences.
When you decide to start, just be up front about it. I don't know of ANY women who would be put off by your lack of experience - it isn't a hindrance in any way. Assuming you select a woman who will take her time and show you what she likes, you will have the unique opportunity to learn what most men never do - how to truly satisfy a woman.
The woman who ends up getting you will be very fortunate, as long as you pay attention and make sure she gets what she needs too.

The rest of you take sex completely for granted. You assume that everyone is comfortable with the idea of having sex and intimacy. Did you all ever consider the few of us out there who have genuine issues about sex? The fear of inadequacy or rejection, embarrassment, the doubts, the consequences. Or the disappointments (tattoos, drinking, profanity, baggage). Some of us don't get into the habit. A few of you have mentioned porn, and it's a safe (and cheaper) alternative. It probably comes down to fear or how private you are.

hopefully you will find someone that will feel that this an endearing quality. Find someone that is interested in teaching you new things about sex! BE UP front of you lack of experience if you tell her why you are not so good in the sack a.k.a suck she will not be quick to judge you.
warning: women are shallow creatures and if you lie and don tell her you have been with few people she will drop you off at loser ville without question!
