I wouldn't suggest you squeeze any blood out since that can damage the surrounding tissue which will make it harder for the cut to heal. Let it bleed freely while washing it with soap and water. That will reduce chances of infection. Also, if you don't mind the burn, alcohol will help. As long as it is a small cut, just put an antibiotic cream and bandaid on it. Keep it covered and dry. Of course if it is a big cut, see a doctor.

To treat a cut, you use the acronym of R.E.D. (simple to remember! Blood is red!)
R- Rest: don't move around while you treat it... this is just common sense!
E- Elevate: elevate the affected area above the heart. This reduces the amount of blood flow (although not significantly or a dangerous amount) to the area, slowing the bleeding.
D- Direct Pressure.
Direct pressure has a side effect of squeezing some blood out. In reality, it just helps the platelets in your blood to congeal and scab the area over. The common misconception is that it prevents infection- really it doesn't.
Infection is cause by bacteria in the wound. Keep the wound clean and change the bandages regularly to prevent the area from being infected.
Hope that helps!

Yes. The outflow of some blood will be removing any infection that may be in the flesh wound.
The most important consideration is infection forming on the flesh area of the cut. Your white corpuscles do an outstanding job of fighting infection that does get into the blood stream, they attack like a duck after a June bug.

nah, poor care of the cut is what leads to infection.
i'd suggest cleaning it with mild soap and applying a triple antibiotic ointment to the cut as well as putting a bandaid over it to keep it from being exposed to the elements, which could also lead to infection.
you don't need to squeeze it to help, but if you want to , i say go for it! :)

One function of bleeding is to purge the wound, usually this
occurs naturally. Squeezing might aggravate the wound and
should be avoided.
