my ****-Tzu is 7 months old, heez a he and his name is Tucker anyways... sometimes when he runs, he doesn't run, he hops, its really funny but idk y he does it, do u?

You don't need to block the breed out with ****s. It's Shih-Tzu. I have a Lhasa Apso and she hops too. Must be a small dog thing. My Yorkies did it too.

After reading these answers, it sure does shed some light on my little dog, he hops too when he runs and plays.

alot of dogs do a hopping motion while running---i have a bichon that hops when he runs too. Make sure he doesn't have any leg injuries or sublexing patellas ---which is more common in smaller dogs.

Every small dog I've ever seen/owned hopped instead of ran. It's just a small dog thing.

well i think that was just how he was boarn. Some small med size dogs well they are a little funny and they do that. I am not all the way sure why they do but ya that is what i have hurd

my maggie Rat Terrier runs and hops too. who knows? she is 8 months now. she's really just a jumping bean!! constantly! she's SO funny!

it may be he has something that hurts when he runs so he hops instead. That also might be just how he is.

lol, lots of dogs hop when they run, my brother in law's german shorthair bounces when he runs, he looks like a giant rabbit with his short tail, brown spots, and floppy ears.

Either a hip or leg problem. Take him to the vet.
