Hit it off huge. Talked all the time, went out all the time, etc. 2 mos. into it, she starts to shy away, but it seemed like we were getting closer. I wouldn't even ask opinions on this, but we are able to talk pretty openly now (dating 6 mos.) and she told me she has always been like this, that she always shies away from the people she really starts to care for. She is a very honest person, so I don't really have any reason to doubt her. She seems torn now and said as much just tonight. We have told each other many times that we love each other. I believe her and know I mean it. So, is she just trying to let me down easy (her heart wants me, her head doesn't or vice versa) or can she really be telling me the truth, that she loves me but doesn't know if I'm what she wants? I am so confused. It's like she loves me so much she wants to end our relationship, or that's what it seems like.

Ok. I think I may have a couple of theories. I am kinda like that except I would not break it off with my boyfriend. She may just be feeling very vulnerable because she has opened herself up to you so much and she doesn't want to get hurt, so she would rather end it now because she won't get as hurt. Make it known that you want her and only her and that you would like your relationship to be long term (if that is what you want). It also could be that there is something going on that she is embarrassed about. Just go to a very private place and tell her that you are there for her and you want to know if there is anything that is going on and that you want to help.

It may stem from her past, she may have witnessed a relationship that ended badly, or even have been in one that ended badly. She may have a few issues to work out. She probably will eventually, but all you can do is be supportive and ask the occasional question which might help her to resolve any issues she might have. Don't ask things like "Don't you love me?" Instead, it should be (if you mean it) "I'll be here for you."

Sounds like shes afarid of getting too close with anyone because shes afraid of getting hurt for some reason. Maybe she was screwed over before and thats why she has her guard up. If she doenst know what she wants..let her go and if she was meant for you she will come back to you. Give her some time to figure out whats going on with herself. Shes probably very scared for whatever reason.

I think shes just scared of getting hurt, when you get to close to someone you start to think what if they find someone new, then where will they be,its easier not to let anyone that close.

I'm sorry... Sounds like you don't trust her. If you trust her then tell her so... Then again it sounds like she might be a player... Sorry but can't help you...
