There are over the counter remedies for UTI's. Go to the drugstore and speak with the pharmacist.

OKAY- I PROMISE THIS WILL WORK; I HAVE CHRONIC UTIS

Follow these steps and I am 99% sure you will feel much better until you can get to the doctor. You will have relief but you must see a doc to get Bactrim or another antibiotic and usually pyridium . I have found water to be better than cranberry juice. If there is sugar in the juice, it isn't good for UTI's.

1. Drink a few glasses of water right now and you or someone get to a drug store( CVS, ECKARD, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, or walmart, etc.) and buy an over counter medicine called URISTAT, or another brand, AZO. These are usually located near yeast infection meds, pregnancy tests, tampons. Do NOTBUY the AZO cranberry supplements. Make sure it is the UTI pain relief. It is the pharmacists job to assist you, so you can ask her/
him.

2. Get home & take 2 of the pills with plenty of water and some food. Try not to pee until you have held those 2 glasses of water and meds down for 15-20 mins. Then go pee orange. You will have relief within 15 - 30 minutes. Ibuprofin helps as well according to my urologist.

3. Continue to drink plenty of water and take URISTAT according to directions and you will feel much better until you can get that DR APPT. Do not eat or drink anything spicy or sugary. The water helps flush the flush some bacteria out of the bladder and keeps the growth down until you can get to a doc. If you forget to drink water, the pain will come back. Don't drink too much water, you can lose your electrolytes. I drink at least a glass every 2 hours when I'm ill.

Hope you get better soon. I can definately feel your pain. Your county should have a free health clinic, otherwise urgent care clinic with generic meds will probably run you $50 - $100 if you tell them you are not insured.

I am assuming you mean Urinary Tract Infection. Drink ALOT of cranberry juice and water and go to the drugstore and buy these things called concentrated cranberry pills (AZO). They aren't too expensive and those combined the juice will get rid of it in about a week. This is the only way to do it without meds so good luck! If you can talk to a nice doctor and describe your symptoms, he might just give you an over the phone perscription for amoxicillan. You have to take it for a while though.

There is an over the counter medicine, I'm not sure what it's called. Go to walgreens or cvs etc and ask the pharmasist. Drink alot of cranberry juice and water to flush it out. Eat yogurt. If it gets worse you're gonna have to go to the dr to get antibiotics. Without insurance you'll pay the full dr office fee (About $60) plus the medicine. Not a huge deal. .. if it backs up into your bladder and you end up in the hospital those bills will be way worse! GOOD LUCK!!!

Go to an urgent care clinic or an in-store clinics (like at Walgreen's or Wal Mart). They are usually inexpensive and you can find out for sure. A prescription for a generic antibiotic is usually less than $20 and it is the only way to treat it for sure. A UTI can become a bladder infection and can move into your kidneys and then become sepsis (blood infection) if left untreated.

Drink lots of fluids including cranberry juice or cranberry pills. Most need antibiotics to heal you though.
Also avoid sexual contact until you are better, it may make it worse. Avoid tub baths, avoid douches, wipe from front to back.
There may some over the counter aids, ask a pharmacist. Also go to the doctor ASAP if there is blood in your urine.

There are no antibiotics you can take without a prescription, but if you can get to a doctor, amoxicillin is cheap and effective. Try drinking a lot of water and urinating often and completely to try to flush out the bacteria. If that doesn't work within a few days, you'll have to see a doctor.

Drink Cranberry juice. The acid clears the infection. Also, there is a medicine called "Azo" that you can buy at the pharmacy.

Hope you feel better soon!

you can drink lots and lots of water and buy some "over the counter" medications. but honestly, try and get to a doctor. a UTI that goes untreated can lead to a kidney infection. i know, cause it happened to me. then your doctor bills will be way more than if you went and got a simple Rx now that would clear it in less than a week. good luck

I read a book on this...I think it's called "you don't have to live with cystitis".....this always works for me:

1. take 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda dissolved in water (do this every 8 hours until it clears up)
2. drink tons of water, go to the bathroom often
3. make sure when you go to the bathroom, you COMPLETELY empty your bladder (always do this, even if you don't have an infection)
4. you can take an over-the-counter bladder analgesic to help relive the pain, or take hot baths
5. avoid caffeine or anything high in acid until your infection clears up....this can aggravate the bladder

(If it doesn't clear up within 1.5 to 2 days, you probably need to go to the doctor....sorry)
