if you have does it really work as good as they say it does.I have an antique dresser that has layers of paint. I was just wondering if this stuff will remove all the layers like it says it will. Please let me know your opinion on this stuff or do you know of something that will work better? Thanks for your answers in advance.

I'm wondering if I'm thinking of the wrong stuff. I saw a long commercial on the paint remover, they were saying that it is harmless if you get it on your skin and it will remove layers of paint with just one coat and it doesn't have a bad odor. Hmmm,or maybe they are just full of it. I'm satating to have second thoughts about removing the paint. This dresser is for a shabby chic bedroom,so maybe I should just sand the bad areas and smooth out the paint and than repaint it . Any suggestions?

I just looked on line and the stuff I was thinking of is actually called READY STRIP. What is the difference between EASY STRIP and READY STRIP?

I used paint stripper on a "Cannondale" mountain bike frame. The frame was alumium. My bike is worth alot. I even called Cannondale, said," that using liquid paint stripper is fine to use and would not void warranty. As long as I did not use any abrassive material." First application took little off with rag only. Second appl. scrubbed with a scrub brush a little more came off. Thrid appl. scrubbed and used a heat gun (lightly) all paint came off with the exception of the weld areas. Used same method on the welds(tight) areas with a plastic brissel brush. So yes does work but lots of time and elbow greese. I did also used on wood baseboards in an apartment I lived in. There had to be ten layers of paint. Giving up after great strides. Only some areas removed to the bare wood. Yes using the same methods as I did on my bike, but using the heat gun, heating til bubbling and a scraper. Be aware to have a mask and good rubber gloves. Stinks and burns if contact with skin. Also messy. Hope helps! G.L.

Yes it will do the job....Things to keep in mind tho....wear protective gear....hands, eyes, mask ....Also the longer you leave it the better it penatrates the old paint and the more layers of paint that are on the dresser detemines the number of times you will have to do the process of aplying and removing...one thing when dealing with antiques one of the layers might be lead based paint and that is why up use a mask... then after you are done with the nutralize it with vinager soaked rag then wash with a mineral spirit...the process of removing crates a plast like goo and this will remove it...don't expect the paint remover to remove every bit of paint...good old elbow greese is required ....Yes sanding by hand......unless you are very good with a orbital sander/ finish sander....but use a 180 git or lower....good luck
