Sort of, you shouldn't have much pain from braces, just discomfort when they are adjusted. I 'm betting your dentist left the wires a bit loose for now until you are used to them. You may get some sores inside your mouth over the next week where the braces are rubbing against the insides of your cheeks or lips. They should have given you some dental wax for that to stick on the brace until the sore heals.

If they just put on the brackets and wires but did not tighten anything, it may not hurt that bad. Also, the pain tends to be a gradual thing, so it may come later. Try taking some ibuprofen, it is really effective against tooth/mouth pain since it is an anti-inflammatory.

Enjoy it while it last! The pain is generally felt the next day or so, when your actually teeth begin to move. Just have pain medication near by, along with jello and mash potatoes.

That's rather unusual! Don't worry the pain will come soon lol. Headaches, toothaches, gum pain you name it. Your orthodontist probably didn't tighten the braces a lot to allow you to get use to it. But each time they get tightened that's when the pain comes.

You will, maybe later tonight, maybe tomorrow. Ibuprophen will help, also Baby Oragel on the gums. Keep thinking positively, straight teeth are worth it.
