year and a half..I'm living with my boyfriend for 5 months and everything is going great..he makes me so happy, treats me
great, surprises me, is honest with me and just everything I want and more. My life is great at that end.

My past relationship which ended roughly 2 years ago to a guy i was with for 5 years ended quite sourly. He cheated with 2 girls in the last year while I went to Australia for 5 months and I remained faithful, even though we were going through a difficult patch I thought somewhere in my head that things might work out..he was my first love if that explains anything!..Anyways, now 2 years on I still hear ppl talking about what happened, how he cheated and who with..I dont want to hear these things and am shocked ppl enjoy talking about it..I feel like a fool..like ppl pity me when I'm really happy..how do I shake this off?..

First I would like to say "Welcome to the club!". Secondly I think if people want to still talk about this, let them, they just don't have lives. Any publicity is better than none. I am engaged and people still talk about my previous relationship, uhhhh glad to hear there are others out there.

Let me first go by saying-wow! Chill, yes I know it's nervewrecking, however you will get past it. I was in a previous relationship with my ex for 5 years as well but its been at least a year now since I have seen him. He is in prison the last I heard. But the point is, as much as it hurts, or annoys you, people are ALWAYS going to talk about what happened no matter who you start seeing new, or go out with your friends...its like an open topic for them. What i suggest is maybe telling these people look i dont want to talk about it. i am happy with where i am now so i dont want to talk about anything other then the present and future. trust me, if they really cared about you or anything they wouldnt talk.

The truth of the matter is that you ARE a fool. People who have nothing better to do with themselves other than talk about your misfortunes should not affect how you feel. You "shake" it off by going on with your life and leaving the past in the past. If they want to re-live it, thats their business.

The key word here is the past. You're already one up by having a great new relationship. Don't let the past ruin your future. As far as the people talking about it. Space yourself from them until you are at ease with it.In time you will find it will pass.I've been there done that.

This ignore what others have to say. They are more than likely just jealous because you are so happy now. Because if they were happy, themselves, they wouldnt have time to be talkin about something that happened 2 years ago. misury loves company, remember that.

Short of moving...Know that you're in a great relationship now...He makes you happy and that's what counts....Let people talk...They're just words....As for your ex...he'll get his some day ;)

Don't worry about what they say. You're happy with your present boyfriend forget your ex and his lovers!

you enjoy the love you have now.....focus on the future with this great guy.........the past doesnt count....thats why its the "past" ..you won...you found a better love....real love ,loyalty,honesty,trust....the things that a love that lasts forever are made of.so focus your energy on the future...where it counts!
