Since an omniscient god would already know what you need from him, and know weather or not it fits his plan he would use his omnipotence to provide you with what you need... So why would anyone ever need to pray for say a friends health or safety, or to come into some money so you can make the next pay check? If it's in the plan he's already got it covered, right?
Or perhaps he isn't omiscient, omnipotent, or both.

So i guess he isn't omniscient then since you have to prove to him that you are thinking about him before he will provide you with anything. You are all saying that you must prove to god you want him to do something for you through prayer... wouldn't he already know that you're thinking about him, since he is all knowing?

I love good logical reasoning.
"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?”
Epicurus would be proud of you. You got a thumbs up from me.
You can rationalize anything the proof is above me.

I think you miss the point of prayer. It is not a tool with which to try to control the things outside of our control as though God were a butler or vending machine. Now, I realize you are not to blame for this misunderstanding. It IS the fault of christians, after all.

Prayer is not asking God for stuff. Prayer is communication between God and the person praying. It is a gift for us to use, not because God needs it.

Because prayer is more about aligning our will to His, rather than His will to ours.
It was never meant to be like a fast food order where you always get it "your way."

God knows what will happen, but we still have to ask Him to show our love and faith in Him.
If we didn't pray for something, then God would know we never asked, so we do need to ask in prayer.

the point of prayer is not to ask for stuff although people do becasue we are humans. the point of prayer is to connect with your Lover and your Creater. the Awesome God. He wants you to pray because He loves you so much and wants to know you, be friends with you, have fun with you, and so that you'd get to know Him.

Another excluded middle question. Useless, but here it goes...
If you ask for it, you don't get it! Or, to put it another way, you can't win if you don't play!

Yes, He already knows your needs, but He is our Father, and He wants us to come to Him. Like any father here on earth wants their children to stay in touch, so does our Heavenly Father. We need to pray to honor Him.
