So - here is what is important for me when I am buying my next car. It can be used or new. And I came down to 3 different models. What are your opinions?
I need:
4x4 drive
A truck bed with a tonneau and perhaps a shell
full crew cab with power windows (also for the rear seats!)
Safety is important (door enhancements, crash tests; rollover stability etc.).
High ground clearance and really ready to go over rough territory
Price (new around 30K; used around 18-24K)
Easy maintenance (no repairs, long warranties, long cycles for services)
So I came down to:
Toyota Tacoma, 2005, 2006 or 2007 model
Ford Eplorer sport trac 2007 model
Nissan Frontier, 2006 or 2007 model
Which one would you chose and why? Thank you

My neighbor has a Tacoma and it is impressive. With the crew cab, you need to remember the bed will be shorter. My money buys the Toyota.

I do like what they have done with the Frontier and it would most likely be a couple thousand less than the Tacoma (Nissan will probably deal more than Toyota on price.)

Buy what you like better, but on paper I think Toyota meets your criteria the best.

the nissan frontieer is more of a truck than the rest, it has the vq engine (best v6 for like 10 years) and is based on the xterra which it car and drivers best suv 4x4, but for price today is the last day Chrysler finance will give anyone a Dakota for 0% and that will save you a lot of money. you have to live with what you buy so buy what makes you happy, they are all good trucks.

I would go for the Toyota Tacoma, since it is both style and reliability...either of the years will work since it is a good truck all together

Explorer Alltrac was discontinued (I think) a few years ago,
Tacoma and Frontier are OK, but they ride like trucks, and guzzle gas like trucks. Besides, everyone has one! Try something different!

Subaru Baja TURBO! Cool, affordable, good on gas and nothing else like it on (or off) the road...

no longer well worth. i in my view does no longer evaluate this dated vehicle. attempt a sparkling vehicle incredibly then this one. in case you like the vehicle, then take a favourite sturdy mech alongside with you for an intensive inspection. examine the motor vehicle background previously procuring.
