*shrugs* Nothing. Just the fact that brainwashed people have been spewing out the same things for over 2000 years. Because it's been happening for so long apparently that equals truth....
Oh for crying out loud FireBall. You have no life do you?

It makes way more sense to believe in Jesus than Zeus. What has Zeus even done for mankind??? nothing! He has never answered a prayer. He doesn't exist beyond the stone statue. Jesus has done everything for mankind!! He died for our sins so that we can live with him forever. Have you ever read the Bible?? Try reading the story of Jesus' life. Have you seen the Passion?? Jesus did that for YOU & ME!! That how much he loves us. Now about Zeus or John Elway, what have they ever done for you??

Clearly no one can answer this question appropriately.
The problem will have to come back to wethere Jesus existed first.
No emphirical evidence outside of the bible from the time of the so called christ exist. Even much of the bible isnt even written from that time. Mostly everything concerning Jesus is written down many decades after the supposed events they mention. So even the bible is hearsay evidence, 'Luke' even admits that.
With a mythical Jesus, its impossible to draw a connection between him and a God. Unless we pressume the 'REAL GOD' is really imagination.
@ kim c above me
that passage in JOSEPHUS is an obvious later church addition, and it brings shame upon you to even be trying to use it as evidence. Even most church scholars know that that passage does not belong to JOSEPHUS. Also JOSEPHUS was born in 37ad and does not even place his life in the time of the so called Messiah

Do you for one minute think that the Disciples who wrote the new testament were lying about all of the miracles that they say and saw Christ performed?
And do you know of any one else - other than "God" that could have possibly performed these miracles?
I mean lets face it! Even the greatest Magician that the earth has ever known could not compare to what Christ did while on this earth!
I don't and since the beginning of the World - neither has anyone else. -
Accept and believe! That was Christ's message to all of us!
Accept Him and believe in Him and Heaven is yours for all eternity.

Elway was good but Christ was resurrected...I'm sure you are being serious Christ was God now whether or not you seek the truth is your choice...without revelation of God you might as well believe in Elway ...either way you die in your sins. The fact is God created the world and came to atone for our sins the only reason to believe is because you felt a need and searched for truth and God revealed it to you.

i do not trust each and every thing you're saying yet I trust the final sentiment. In determining on between atheism and theism, theistic idea seems the most genuine looking frame of mind. in case you opt for theism then Christianity absolutely makes the most experience to me. yet human beings can opt for atheism or yet another type of theism through not getting an precise photo of issues. operating example, the incorrect information I study Jesus from some atheists is ideas boggling. If an ignorant atheist became naive adequate to take that as gospel then why would they appreciate Christianity.

Jesus isn't god and never professed to be, he turned away from anyone who tried to make him out to be more than who he was, every miracle he performed he gave honour to his father.
Jesus is a real person but if you think he was God then you may as well believe in Zeus

First, Jesus is not Almighty God. Read John 20:17; 14:28,etc.
But, believe in Jesus because of your calendar. It says, AD. According to World Book Encyclopedia, he probably is the greatest historic person who ever lived.
Napoleon said: I, Julius Ceasar, and Alexander the Great, built our empires by means of force. Only, Jesus, built his based on Love.

Jesus, unlike Zeus, conquered death. Anyone (the only One) who has power over death is the One I choose to follow. And the evidence to believe that Jesus is God is the same evidence written by timjim: An empty tomb. Peace.

have you ever heard of a man named Josephus? (Google his name.......) he was not a believer yet he wrote this.
JOSEPHUS-Jewish Historian
Josephus, Jewish historian (AD 37-100) wrote of Jesus"About this time appeared Jesus, a wise man (if indeed it is right to call Him man; for He was a worker of astonishing deeds, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with joy), and He drew to Himself many Jews (many also of Greeks. This was the Christ.) And when Pilate, at the denunciation of those that are foremost among us, had condemned Him to the cross, those who had first loved Him did not abandon Him (for He appeared to them alive again on the third day, the holy prophets having foretold this and countless other marvels about Him.) The tribe of Christians named after Him did not cease to this day." (Jewish Antiquities, 18.3.3 ?63 )
