no..some things are definitely right and some things definitely wrong. the difference between being open or closed minded is whether or not a person considers and evaluates all forseeable aspects before forming an opinion on something. open minded also means being able to re-evaluate your feelings on something
if a side is presented that wasn' t previously considered

Wow, I just have to say that I completely disagree with you. What a sick(er) world it would be if nothing was considered wrong. That statement is just ridiculous. Of course I suppose it's just my opinion. Although, I don't think everything is just a matter of opinion. There are some things that are just right, or wrong.

Yes. And then closed-minded types say you're a "moral relativist." And they're right! But morals ARE relative. Heat is good for hot dogs but bad for ice cream. Murder is wrong unless the President says to do it. God is all-powerful and all-knowing...but only MY god. Etc.

If we let people believe that, then we would have no way to pressure others into acting the way we want them to. In order to control our surroundings and those around us, we must define a set of "good" things and a set of "bad" things, and pressure others into acceeding to those sets and to live accordingly. Man is defined by his power to arrange his environment, more so by his power to arrange his fellow men.

Nothing wrong with that?
You should be truly open-minded about that.

If that is true how do you know that for sure? You are making an absolute statement by saying there are no absolutes. It is a self refuting questions.

not everything is "right", when an individuals beliefs interfere with another persons rights, those beliefs are wrong, ex. The belief that it is okay to murder people is not acceptable, we could call that belief "wrong".

Put down the ganja, go out and experience life, not just vicariously through a computer or a television screen, and get back to me in a decade or so.
