When my brother and sisters were young we all had styes all the time, to get rid of them we were given Golden Eye ointment it did the trick till the next lot, our diet was not a good one so I think if you give your boy a balanced diet it might help.

Styes
A stye (hordeolum) is a red, tender bump on the eyelid that appears when an oil gland at the base of an eyelash becomes infected with bacteria and clogged. (A chalazion, is a blocked oil gland on the eyelid that is not infected with bacteria produces similar symptoms). Styes can make your eyelid swell and itch. They are normally smaller than a pebble, but the discomfort and swelling can make them feel huge.
Growths on the eyelid that are not red and painful are usually cysts, not styes. Although any unusual lump or growth should be checked by a doctor, most eyelid cysts are harmless and don't need to be removed.
What to Do
Over a few days a stye usually comes to a head -- like a pimple -- and drains on its own. Sometimes a stye will persist for weeks without coming to a head. In these cases a doctor may prescribe an antibiotic ointment or choose to open and drain the stye. To prevent styes, wash your face daily. This can keep oil glands from clogging and forming styes.
Self-Care Steps for Styes
Do not squeeze or try to break the stye.
Hot compresses will help a stye come to a head and drain. Place a clean washcloth in water as hot as you can stand it without burning yourself (use lukewarm water for children). Wring out the cloth and place it on your eye for 5 to 10 minutes. Repeat three or four times a day.
If pus discharges on its own or during this process, carefully clean the entire area with warm water

Do you have any pets? If so, he could be allergic to them.
I use to baby-sit a little boy who's family had a dog. He kept on getting styes, and they had to get rid of their dog because that's what was causing it.

get nine thorns from a gooseberry bush and do the following with each thorn one after the other
point the thorn at the eye as if you were going to prick it,( but don't touch it) say" in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit" and throw it over the childs shoulder, you may laugh but it works, I even sent them to my brother in australia.
