What about the ones who don't even dress up??

Just so we are straight on everything, the people who are too old to be trick or treating and don't dress up, that kinda bugs me. I feel that if you are 17 and want to trick or treat then at least put on a trash bag and make it look like you tried LOL!!!

This bothers me, too. I buy lots of bags of candy (25-30). We get a lot of kids. Most of them are kids. We give candy to everybody, even the big kids. We don't like it, but we don't want the leftover candy, either.

This year, our Trick-or-Treat was Saturday night. It was a very cold night. During the day we had sleet, snow, wind, hail and just about everything else. All the kids were bundled up. It was hard to see what costumes they had. No matter, we were glad they came out.

I wish the older kids would just go to parties and let the younger kids have the fun Trick-or-Treating.

It's Halloween why not give them some candy. Why do people always have to over analyze everything? It's just fun to get out and enjoy the trick or treaters and be involved in the festivities. So hand them a piece of candy and quit your complaining.

the back side of my front door. get a life. trick or treat is for the kiddos. the ones that are young and don't dress up still get candy as i know the family might not be able to afford a costume. not the kids fault.

Put up a big sign on your door that says Trick or Treaters above 15 will not be entertained.

Have to address this problem every year. No dress up, "Sorry, just ran out of candy". Same excuse for the ones that are too old. If there are little ones with them that are dressed, I simply tell them that I only have enough candy for the younger ones. If they don't like it, oh well.....to damn bad :)

Participants in Halloween of ALL ages get the same thing as all other participants. If they're older and they're not interested in candy, they shouldn't be trick-or-treating.

People who don't dress up aren't participating, so they don't count as participants, and thus get nothing.

Nothing at all, unless they are escorting a younger sibling. Then you make them say Trick or Treat first.

Or you can make them feel like Charlie Brown. Give them rocks!

A lump of coal ...

Wrong season, but it gets the point across.

Alternately, put up a sign in your driveway indicating the maximum height of your candy recipients.

As long as they have made the effort to put on a costume, I'll give them candy no matter how old they are.

This is my main Halloween gripe. I think communities should ban door to door trick or treating and open up the recreation centers and have Halloween parties. For different age groups.
