My first did the same thing and as a forewarning it starts with the hands and continued on. She would get very frustrated when she couldn't make her body do what she wanted. She had this problem with sitting, pushing herself up, crawling, pulling herself up and walking. It was very hard to watch her struggle and sometimes hard to deal with her because of it. Her Doctor told me to work with her on whatever it is that she was trying to do at the time but to keep in mind that she probably was not physically ready to do that task yet. I found that toys that were out there to help with hand movements or rolling over or sitting up helped out a lot. More then anything all you can do is be patient. My first is now almost three and is the most independent child I have ever met. She trys to do everything on her own and hit almost every milestone early. Good luck.

It's frustrating when we can't do things we want. Now imagine not being able to voice those frustrations. It's difficult. I would help him use his hands. Show him how to grasp objects and such. He'll catch on. If nothing else works, just comfort him and let him know you love him.
