A few months ago I was in a work place in London where most of them are immigrant workers from India. I cant speak single hindi word. Myself and another 4 other naitive British workers had to leave the job.

... lol ... in my current work place the German is the first language ... I am looking for another job where I can understand the communication easily and enjoy the culture freely. Should London enjoy the Britishness?

No, it's not true. London is one of the world's great international cities, like Paris or New York, but obviously English is the first and for many people only language.

You should have no problem finding a job, as you have an advantage over those that can only speak a foreign language, since you evidently speak English as well as your own language.

Good luck, and enjoy the Britishness, the Londonness, and the humanness of life around you.

What's sad is to see that some of the immigrant youngsters can't speak any language well. They learn their parents' language at home, but receive no education in it (except in the London Borough of Ealing, where they suppress the teaching of European language in favour of Indian ones), and their version of English is approaching the incomprehensible.

English will be a second language and culture to some people in London but only to those who are from other countries.

I'm not sure why you asked this question as you live in London.

London isn't a good place to learn English. True Londoners don't have the letter 'T' in their alphabet. They talk about their 'muvver' and 'bruvver', when it's cold they wear an ' 'at'. Most second generation arrivals have adopted this 'abit. They're also a bit lacking in culture . But then I'm a bit of a snob.
You wouldn't recommend anyone to learn German in Hamburg would you? Wat!? Dat mach man nich.

Thats the Brits for you. They gave hundreds of years travelling the world invading loads of different countries and then get upset when those people follow them home.

There are 379 different languages spoken in Londonisbad today, I think the Brits may as well leave and turn the lights out on the way.
