People do it all the time. If you are worried about it, here is what you do. Crack it open in a bowl. If the outside area of the egg white looks like and has the consistancy of water it means it is no longer fresh.

Like the others have stated... crack them in a seperate bowl first...one at a time.
I wouldn't recommend them to be used for any recipe like meringue or poached eggs or any other that needs them to be thick and substantial.
The longer en eggs sits the more it begins to break down. The whites become thinner and don't stay together well. Example... if you fry an egg and when it hits the an the whites don't run far from the yolk... it is a fresh egg. The further it runs.. the older the egg.

If you crack open the egg and the white does not look cloudy, pink, or smells bad, it should be fine. But crack each egg separately so you don't ruin all of them with one bad egg.

As a rule I always crack eggs seperately into a bowl before using them. If you get a bad egg and you will know it hasn't contaminated the other eggs or the mixture e.g. cake.

I've used them in cakes and other recipes that have mixed raw eggs in them. I'm not brave enough to try to eat them plain.

Hi, Susan.

It's probably fine, just make sure you cook them well, due to possible bacterial contamination.

I don't see why not? As long as they've been in the fridge. When you crack them open, you'll know if they're no good!
