Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it." (Matthew 10:34-39 NASB)

Great family values, huh?

Edit - to the person below - Jezebel messes up so he kills her kids??? What the heck did the kids do wrong?

Krishna Killed daemons but that is to get rid of the burden of the world . We as humans do not really know what peace means. Its all very sentimental. Would you like it if there was no jail or punishment for killers. God knows who did what in this life or in the previous lives. Why is a baby born blind sick or blind and in a poor family. He is a baby right? He had to do something to get that situation If God is a merciful God. It is all Karma (reaction to previous activities. We want peace but we keep the slaughter houses open by supporting them through eating animals. Go to www.essene.org TO understand the Christian view of Karma and Reincarnation. Which was taken out of the Bible by King Constantine. And how Paul messed a lot of thing up.

its Revelation, (with no s at the end). Also who ever said that when Christ returns He will be happy? No, when He returns, Hes certainly not happy about how the world is!
Revelation is written for the time just preceding and including the return of Christ, the Day of the Lord. Unless Thyatira repents, all the churches will see the fruit of her lack of repentance, thus they all must exist at the end to witness Christ's judgment. The message to Thyatira, then, may apply to the historical church, but only in type.

The congregation in Thyatira was tolerating idolatry, false teaching, and sexual immorality. In their midst was “that woman Jezebel”—perhaps a group of women with traits like those of wicked Queen Jezebel of the ten-tribe Kingdom of Israel. Some scholars suggest that the ‘prophetesses’ of Thyatira tried to entice Christians to worship trade-guild gods and goddesses and to participate in festivals involving food sacrificed to idols. Let no self-appointed prophetess seek to manipulate others in the present-day Christian congregation!

You need to be careful and not take scripture out of context. Jesus was referring to Jezebels children, a metaphor indicating those who followed her false teachings.

Just a question if you're a parent, do you ever get angry at your children when they willfully disobey after they've been told?

You can take just about any verse and take it out of context...

Good job, you've just done it!

Revelation 2:20-25 (New Living Translation)

20 “But I have this complaint against you. You are permitting that woman—that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet—to lead my servants astray. She teaches them to commit sexual sin and to eat food offered to idols. 21 I gave her time to repent, but she does not want to turn away from her immorality.
22 “Therefore, I will throw her on a bed of suffering,[a] and those who commit adultery with her will suffer greatly unless they repent and turn away from her evil deeds. 23 I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches out the thoughts and intentions of every person. And I will give to each of you whatever you deserve.
24 “But I also have a message for the rest of you in Thyatira who have not followed this false teaching (‘deeper truths,’ as they call them—depths of Satan, actually). I will ask nothing more of you 25 except that you hold tightly to what you have until I come.

God is giving everyone a chance to repent. He's done it since the beginning of time. When you don't...there will be hell to pay (no pun intended).

This is from the message bible and puts it in better context. Remember this is in the days of judgement.

"But why do you let that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet mislead my dear servants into Cross-denying, self-indulging religion? I gave her a chance to change her ways, but she has no intention of giving up a career in the god-business. I'm about to lay her low, along with her partners, as they play their sex-and-religion games. The bastard offspring of their idol-whoring I'll kill. Then every church will know that appearances don't impress me. I x-ray every motive and make sure you get what's coming to you.

Idiot!!
Typical. Obviously Jesus is not talking about an actual woman and actual children.
The woman represents another theology (such as the theology of the virgin mary, etc).
The children represent adherents to that theology.
God says that he will destroy this fake religion along with its followers.

But I know that you are not capable of discerning that from the text.

Christ is killing our enemy Jezebel(the mother of all whores and witchcraft). Therefore we have peace.

Revelations 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. 24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. 25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. 26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. 28 And I will give him the morning star. 29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Another quote from the Bible taken out of context! There is another verse in the Bible that says, "Jesus wept." That doesn't mean that we should all go around crying. But, taken out of context, some may believe that's what it means. Peace.
